I pair exceptional training with a breadth of work as a director and editor. I began as the assistant to director Rob Cohen, while my short films were featured in festivals along with a TEDx conference. Since then I have worked on independent and studio features, HBO and network television shows.
Currently, I am the lead development editor for This is Just a Test Productions, where the last five shows ordered to series were based on pilots and sizzles that I created. The edit can be a puzzle, a dance, an experiment, but above all, it's about making the emotional connection between the story and the audience.
My cinematic career began in the third grade when I wrote an 80-page adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. Our moms made the costumes, all the guys brought their swords, and we shot some stirring scenes before the pizza ran out. Though the project was never completed, my passion for film took off.
Whether working on the development of a 20th Century Fox feature or on location in the most remote islands of the Pacific for a National Geographic documentary, whether directing a robotic hand's search for its body or a promo for The American Society of Cinematographers, I have lived and thrived in the frenzy of the industry, its surprising challenges and multiple demands.
I choose the medium of film to tell my stories because I have an eye for composition, a rhythm for editing, and a deep appreciation for the connections between every moment and every cut.
A 2012 graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Film and Television Production, magna cum laude.
My editing suite and array of skills include Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, After Effects, and Photoshop. I am well versed in various workflows including Canon’s DSLRs, the Red cameras, Sony’s XDCams, outputting to web, Blu-ray and broadcast.
